Prizes/Awards conferred to Pakistan

  1. ISESCO Literacy Award
    A cash prize amounting to US$ 5,000/- and a certificate was awarded to Elementary Education Foundation Peshawar, KPK in July 2010.
  2. UNESCO-Madanjeet Singh Prize for the Promotion of Tolerance and Non-Violence was conferred to Mr. Abadul Sattar Edhi, at UNESCO Headquarters, Paris with cash prize of US $ :50,000
  3. 2010 UNESCO/ Bilbao Prize for the Promotion of a Culture of Human Rights awarded to Advocate Ms. Asma Jahangir on Human Rights Day 2010, in the city of Bilbao, Spain by the DG, UNESCO comprised of US$25,000, the diploma and the trophy.
  4. 2010 UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Conservation Award for Cultural Heritage Conservation. UNESCO Bangkok gave an award of distinction to Mr.Salman Baig, from Agha Khan Cultural Services of Pakistan for preservation of the Gulabpur Khanqah, District Shigar, Gilgit-Baltistan.
  5. Dr. Attiya Inayatullah, Former, Pakistan’s Representative of UNESCO Executive Board/MNA has been awarded Civil Award, 2012 on her outstanding contribution to UNESCO.
  6. Prof. Dr. Tasawar Hayat, Department of Mathematics, Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad has got “ISESCO Math Prize 2012, consisting of a Certificate, a gold medal and a cash award of US$5000.
  7. UNESCO Confucius Literacy Prize 2011. Awarded to Dr. Allah Bukhsh Malik, Former Secretary Literacy and Education Department, Government of Punjab in New Delhi India on 08th September 2011 during the UNESCO International Literacy Day Ceremony.
  8. Mitsubishi Asian Children’s Enikki Festa 2010-2011. Following awards have been conferred to Pakistani children.

    • NFUAJ Award One
    • Excellence Award Five
    PNCU has received awards, certificates and prizes. The award ceremony yet to be decided.
  9. Asia-Pacific Centre for Education for International Understanding –APCEIU Best Practices 2012: Grammar School Rawalpindi has been given Best Practices Award 2012 under the APCEIU, Korea programme of Education for International Understanding. The school submitted their project/case study: Shaping Student Behaviors through Global Education for a Sustainable Future in Pakistan”.
